It’s a real pleasure to host Andrew J. Chambers of HojBob Productions again. This time, we’re talking about a new, interesting project: the sequel to Orgy of The Dead.
Welcome back to BMovieFilms, Today, we speak about a new project: Orgy of the Dead 2, a direct sequel of the nudie cuties cult movie. Can you speak in detail about this movie?
Yeah, it’s the story of a group of young people out partying it up when they wind up in a graveyard full of dancing, naked, dead ladies who are trying to please the Emperor of the dead so they can keep their souls and avoid eternal damnation.
How did this new project come about?
I had been seeing a lot of indie filmmakers announcing new projects that were sequels to older movies like, Redneck Zombies, Spider Baby, and Poultryguist. I thought it would be awesome if HojBob had something like that. I had just recently watched Orgy of the Dead and I thought that was right in my wheelhouse. So, after weeks of searching for the rights owner, I was finally introduced to Christopher Apostolof who just happened to be the son of the director of Orgy of the Dead. I pitched him the idea and he was interested in a partnership and after I gave him a sample script he was all in.
Where will this film be shot? Have you found the locations yet?
We are filming all of the graveyard scenes at an outdoor haunted attraction called Sinister Sidney in Sidney, Iowa. Then some other scenes will be filmed near by.
The original film has a peculiarity. Some sequences of sinuous striptease. Do you want to maintain this approach? And if so, in a classic or modern style?
It’s going to be a lot like the original but definitely more modern and we’ll break up the monotony with some comedy and interaction from the rest of the cast. So, yes. Plenty of stripping still.
Some details about the cast?
Of course everyone knows Jessa Flux. I’d say she’s the independent scenes biggest scream queen. Then we have Adam Peltier who is the star of Lloyd Kaufman’s latest movie Power of Positive Murder. I got a chance to spend a few days on set of that film and I was really impressed with Adam’s dedication. Then we have Nick Somers who you can see in my short silent film Sexe De Clown and a newcomer to acting Jaymie Schroeder. In the role of the Emperor we have Mike Fantastik who I’m sure will be much funnier and far less intoxicated than Criswell and our princess of the night is Penny Aphrodite who was recently in Ouija Slumber Party. Another familiar name is Clint Beaver who will be playing Harambe the gorilla. Mike Ross of Springsville as The Wolfman and Tony Kimball as the Mummy.
Will there be any connections to the original film?
Absolutely. It could honestly have been a remake but I went with sequel instead. It’s basically another orgy but with another group of unfortunate mortals who stumble upon the kinky dead dance party. I tried to write the dialogue of the Emperor and Princess of the Night in the Ed Wood style and there are plenty of callback jokes.
Do you think this sequel could generate a revival of the nudies cuties genre?
Honestly, I think it’s going to remain an underground throwback thing. Hardcore pornography killed the nudie cuties and it’s more accessible than ever before. You need more than just naked ladies now. Which is why this movie is a comedy with some fun practical gore.
Next projects after Orgy of the Dead sequel?
I’m working again with Mike Fantastik to make a movie he co wrote with his Smoke Break band mate Morgan Molk. Kind of a Scooby Doo mystery type movie. Then next year I think we’re going to do Babezilla vs the Turds from Uranus.
